You have to go back to 2014 for the beginning of the story, when chef Luc Salsedo, owner of a restaurant in Nice,
experimented making small chips with some leftover socca, the famous galette made from chickpea flour.
Because for him, nothing goes to waste, everything can be transformed!

 

Feedback from the first customers, who liked the originality of these snacks, proved him right. The chef was clearly onto something. And he knew it.

 

He spent long months tweaking and perfecting his recipe.
After several trials and many hours of work, he finally hit on the right recipe in 2014. This is when the product was marketed under the brand Socca Chips®. Chips with an authentic and unique socca flavour, original, made from 100% natural ingredients and, to top it all, gluten-free!

 

Socca Chips® were an immediate success, which came as little surprise to Luc Salsedo who was convinced that this thoroughly original product had its place among French aperitif snacks. Distributed today in more than 1,500 points of sale, Socca Chips® lets you discover the taste of Socca, this speciality from the Mediterranean, and more precisely from Nice, closely related to the chickpea specialities of Farinata, Panelle, Cade, Panisse, and Garantita.

Our story began seven years ago. From a small, family-run business, it has now grown to include dozens of employees as well as a dedicated production facility located on the outskirts of Nice.

 

Above all, our story has taken us on a rich human adventure with our consumers. Dialogue and sharing have been a top priority for Luc Salsedo and his teams.

Luc Salsedo – A creator

Niçois by birth, Luc Salsedo has already led many lives. He trained for more than 20 years in gastronomic restaurants alongside some of the greatest chefs (Alain Ducasse and Franck Cerrutti, Arnaud Poëtte, Jean-Marc Delacourt …) and opened his own restaurant, the Luc Salsedo in Nice in 2004. He had one objective, to change the menu every ten days according to the seasons and the fresh produce available from the market.

Creative? Undoubtedly, he already was, and it was this desire for a challenge that drove him to launch his two flagship products, Socca Chips® and SoccApéro®. Marketed under the « Créations Luc Salsédo® » brand, all the products created by this passionate chef reflect his values:
